Silent Sunday

We woke this morning to another covering of snow. Phone calls came and our plans for the day were put on hold. While the snow fell I kneaded some bread and put it to rise. It is always a good feeling to be busy in the warmth of the kitchen when it is inhospitable outside.
But when the snow eased I put on my boots and went outside.
Spring, eh? No gardening today!
We walked alongside the lake.

The snow is fine and powdery and has settled on the branches and made lovely patterns on the tree trunks.

The leaves are weighted with the softly fallen snow.

There is no-one about but us.
It's cold!

  1. This is why I love to blog. I can see beautiful snowy black and white photos. So unlike my winter of clouds, blue sky and hopefully snow in the mountains and rain in valley.

    cheers, parsnip

  2. Well, it looks beautiful, that's for sure.

  3. Snow is lovely but it has passed its expiration date. We are being told to expect a small amount this week. I’m hoping that the predictors are wrong.

I started my seed trays today to ward off any negativity. Spring can’t come soon enough.

  4. No snow here, but I'm just about to go out (with dog), and it looks very cold.

  5. It all looks so beautiful if only it was not so cold.

  6. This time I share her view:
"Snow is lovely but it has passed its expiration date." quote Starting Over, Accepting Changes - Maybe.

We had a walk that looks very familiar to yours. Aren't you supposed to have the milder climate?

Don't you find it confusing, how the days are getting longer (of course they are, it's already mid March) and at the same time everything around us resembles late December/early January.

  7. It is finally spring here. I am able to finish flower bed cleanup and will plant annuals soon. I am not a fan of winter.

  8. I very much like your pattern it's beautiful, thank for sharing good i dea !
