Sunshine!

This is our third day of sunshine and it really does transform every thing. It is warm enough to open the french windows in my workroom that lead into the greenhouse.
Plants are still skulking inside waiting for the end of very chilly nights.
The solar fairy lights have been charged by the sun. I've draped them around the roof beams and the largest lemon tree and it's lovely at dusk to sit in this space.
Outside I've finally got some seeds in the ground - and put up barricades against cats and pigeons!
The 'St Patrick's Day' daffodils whiten as they age and. in my opinion, become ever more attractive.
And in the garage greenhouse the auricles are just getting to the exciting stage!

  1. I love your greenhouse, especially how it leads out from your workroom. I think I'd be in there for most of the day! Your garden is looking great and I can tell you've put in a lot of work to keep those pesky animals out! take care, maryann

    1. This little greenhouse really comes into its own in the spring and autumn when it's not comfortable enough to sit outside but has warmed up nicely in the greenhouse.( Now that I've retired not much work gets done in my workroom!)

  2. Oh, I do love those solar fairy lights also. I have invested quite a bit in them over the past few years and because of the timers on them, I get to see a beautiful light show every evening.

    1. I used to keep the lights just for Christmas but they are so pretty that it seems a pity to have them packed away for most of the year. The sun is too low in the sky in the winter months for the sun to clear the neighbouring trees and shine into the greenhouse but at this time of year we get a nice display.

    1. Well it saves having to do any watering, Doc!
I should probably stop calling my room a workroom now that I've stopped work, although I'm still full of ideas and intentions.

    1. They are really pale-looking now, the pear blossom is fully open and they look lovely together. Another few days and the flowering will be going over.

  5. You have a lot of auriculas - wonderful. I like them, have only two.
You can be happy to have a conservatory, nice to sit in in winter.

    1. I absolutely love auricles, Sigrun, they are one of my absolute favourites. I have a real battle with them, however, as the vine weevil grubs seem to love them and have eaten and killed many of my most special plants.
The greenhouse is bitterly cold in the winter but perfect just now when we can avoid the cold wind but enjoy the sunshine.

  6. YAY! I found you again! (Lost where you were for a short bit.) Needed to come to your garden get my fix to avoid grumbles at hubby's imported bug (not claiming it as my own yet, though it be claiming me!)... Hopefully I can remember where you are for later. Have to say my razor-sharp memory isn't quite there anymore... (I'm too young for this! Or so I think...)

Is that a real-live lemon I see on that tree?!? Wow.

Sigh. OK. Still wishing I were you! But I'm not, so will make do!

Hope you are feeling better by now! You make your days look lovely even perhaps when you are not.

Oh! That didn't sound right! But hope you get the gist.

  7. Yes, a real, live lemon! (And I had so many this year that I made marmalade!)
And, thank you, I'm much better now. And, yes, I know what you mean, I don't blog the bad bits - like most bloggers I take a positive attitude to life and on the days that I can't manage that I stay away from the computer!
Hope your hubby's bug is going to creep away quietly.

  9. The solar fairy lights in the glass house look like a scene from a Studio Ghibli film. Magical :-)
