I have a choice of flowers to pick in the garden now that such good weather has arrived. Even so I couldn't resist these supermarket roses, only £2 from Lidl!
It has been an excellent year for camellias, with hardly any damage done to the blooms.
flowers in the house at small but charming.
What beautiful blooms you have in your spring garden - I love this time of year don't you.
ReplyDeleteWhen it's as kind as this year then, yes, I love it! Everything promises in springtime.
DeleteLovely, lovely Camellias, unfortunately no blooms from our Camellias this year, all frost damaged when the temperature plunged to -16 Celsius.
ReplyDeleteDear Dash, I keep trying to read and comment on your blog but it always seems to fail me. I just get as far as your latest title before it disappears, but I gather that you also are mad about Mad Men!
Deletegosh it really does look like spring there. we have not had enough rain here in southern california. the garden is ok now but i think summer is going to be brutal. love all your roses! xo
ReplyDeleteYes, it's spring at it's best just now and I'm out grubbing about in the garden as much as I can!
DeleteI've just looked through your blog and have to say how beautiful your garden is. You obviously love it and it shows! I wish we had the soil to grow camellias. Our last garden was on clay and we grew some fantastic roses, but I struggle with the chalk here! xx
ReplyDeleteHello Serendipity, I don't have acid soil so I plant my camellias in ericaceous soil and top dress and feed to keep them happy. I think that they are worth a bit of effort because when not flowering they are still an attractive glossy green shrub. I'm wanting to buy the perfect white - haven't found it yet!
DeleteThe peony is breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteOh, isn't it!
DeleteThank you for your kind comment on my blog. I enjoyed it very much! What a lovely garden you have. The camelia's and peonies look beautiful. I don't have camelia's in my garden, but am seriously considering planting one.
ReplyDeleteHappy evening,
Madelief x
Hello Madelief, There are plenty of camellias to choose from, and if the soil in your garden isn't suitable it doesn't matter because they are happy in pots. There is a white variety called, 'Cornish Snow' but I have yet to locate it. I do like nice flowers to have equally pleasant and appropriate names.
ReplyDeleteI wonder who E.G. Waterhouse was?
Wow that is one perfect spring garden.
ReplyDeleteIn and out the house you are surrounded by perfection.
Enjoy.
