Sun's up

It's lovely to wake up to sunshine, even when it's ten degrees below freezing! Another blob of yellow in the sky was this balloon, floating gently towards my garden in the early morning mist.

It was sinking fast by the time it came by me but I didn't go outside to watch the landing.

I took the photos through the window because, baby it's cold outside!

  1. I saw someone on Twitter who's visiting London complaining that it was really cold there. Very strange weather everywhere this year it seems.

    1. Most of the winter has been relatively mild. I always think that February is the meanest month and it's certainly proving so this year.

  2. I bet whoever was in the balloon was absolutely freezing up there.

    1. I'm trying to keep cosy, Bonnie. No trips in a balloon for me.

  4. That had to be one long, cold ride. I suspect the balloon riders had a nice size bottle of brandy with them.

    1. Thermals, long johns and a brandy bottle if they had any sense!

  5. It is hard to judge the size of that balloon Rosemary. Until I read the comments above I thought it had landed in your garden. In that last photograph there is a yellow 'blip' that could so easily be a small balloon. How the eye plays tricks.

    1. The balloon was a decent size with at least three people in it's basket, Weaver. I added the last photo of the garden because the sun was just catching a couple of bushes and a large pebble that echoed the shape of the balloon.
