Summer living

The sun shines, we are gorging on fruit from the garden, the roses are blooming, so life is sweet! The rose, 'Cinderella' flowers well in fine weather but is miserable in the rain. The little 'Raubritter' flowers is a 'good doer' and behaves well whatever the weather. It is unusually warm at the moment. Sun hats are being worn. My friend Janet, seen here with her two Irish terriers, arrived with the present of a headband for my hat. We were out and about socializing at the weekend, hat and headband on throughout. Take a look at my Miss Cellany blog to see our musical weekend.

  1. That all looks wonderful. We are having a rainy period with very heavy rain and strong wind last night. I would love a bowl of fresh fruit like that right now.

    1. We are experiencing quite exceptional weather for Blighty. I've been harvesting fruit for weeks now. Jam is made and the freezer is full!

  2. Beautiful, all of it! And a new ribbon for your hat is a nice idea for a gift.
I love all sorts of berries.
Hopefully, there will still be some of that great summer weather left when my sister and I will be in Yorkshire for the next two weeks!

    1. We shall be in Yorkshire in August to attend the wedding of my school friend. What a pity that our dates don't coincide, it would be lovely to meet up.

  4. Oh, exactly, Andrea. I'm a summer person, happiest in my skin when the sun is out.
