Sometimes

it is just too good to be inside. Today we put on our warmest clothes and went for a walk on the beach. We scrambled down through the dunes and had the beach almost to ourselves.

Time for a bit of exploring with Grandad, looking for stuff. (A big chunk of ambergris, known as floating gold, was recently found near here.) No luck today. Instead a bit of acrobatics. "Look at me, Grandad!"

The sun was out but it was cold!

    1. We had a bit of a blizzard yesterday morning and DIDN'T go for a walk! It was all over by lunchtime, just left with a strong wind which gave us a great time kite flying.

  2. It was a rare kind of weekend for us - no proper walk or hike, just a quick turn around the village between showers. No snow here just yet.
Wonderful to see the blue skies and happy people in your pictures!

  3. It looks like a lovely day was spent outdoors...unfortunately for myself the weekend was spent in Londonium visiting southern softies who dare not go outside if there is even a hint of inclement weather in the air..

    1. After days of gloom and battering winds it was lovely to be outside in bright sunshine for a while in spite of the cold.

  7. Even on the coldest day its nice to get out for some fresh air and exercise. Sadly no beach for miles here but I do have a nice walk that passes sheep, cows, goats and an alpaca.

    1. I can't sympathize too much for you for being far from a beach when I know that you are seeing out winter in Italy! It is bloomin' cold back here in Blighty.

  8. Looks like a beautiful day and a fun outing. I like the beach in winter (well, winter here in S CA, which really isn't winter at all).
