Cold nights have brought some bright colour to the leaves. There is as much foliage on the ground now as remains on the trees. (And my compost bay is full to overflowing!)
A view of the road that runs through the village where we walk every day. It is lovely to kick through the dry leaves.
Like you, I love kicking through dry leaves! I don‘t go into large heaps as I do not want to disturb any small animal that might be sheltering underneath, but when leaves are covering the path, it is nice to rustle about in them.
ReplyDeleteAnd the colours are simply gorgeous!
Lovely colours this year.
DeleteI love kicking through dry leaves too, but generally tend not to, not out of concern for small animals but because of something else that might be deposited under them.
ReplyDeleteOh, no!
DeleteI am quite sure that kicking up the leaves is an innate human condition. Is there anyone who is not irresistibly drawn to doing it?
ReplyDeleteI watched the junior school children coming home, all happily kicking up the leaves as their mothers dragged them along!
DeleteI am a big kid when it comes to leaf kicking. A while to wait here.
ReplyDeleteAh, another big kid - lovely!
DeleteAutumn is a beautiful time of year. I can't imagine not living in a place with changing leaves & changing seasons. Your walking path is gorgeous! ~Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteI know I moan a lot about the weather, but, like you, I do really enjoy living in a place with different seasons.
DeleteIn my youth I kicked autumn leaves without let or hindrance. Today the leaves covered the grass verges of our housing estate so evenly, almost like a crust, that I was disinclined to disturb their symmetry. We get older and we do different things.
ReplyDeleteI used to spend a lot of time climbing and swinging about in trees. I don't/can't do that anymore. Yes, we get older and do different things, but I'm still part child and like to kick through the leaves.
