A heron sat on the neighbour's roof this morning, drying it's wings.
Aren't those telephone wires intrusive!
The lovely weather is tempting the balloonists into the sky. They come floating along in the still of early morning and again in early evening. The woods to the east of our house seem to give them a bit of a dip and I'm usually made aware of their presence when I'm in the garden by the noise of propane gas being pumped into the balloon in order to keep it afloat. It's sometimes a near do thing! Yesterday evening this balloon came very close to landing in the field.
There was quite a crowd of people in the wicker basket.
As they passed over the house one of them called out,
"Put the kettle on!"
Beautiful photos of the wheelbarrow with the rising sun on the background. Always nice to watch the balloons in the sky but I should not like to be in that basket. When Snarf discovers a balloon he thinks it's weird and runs inside.hiding himself under my desk.
ReplyDeleteI'm like you, Janneke, perfectly happy to be down on the ground. It looked rather crowded in that basket!
DeleteSuch beautiful misty morning photos. I want to be there! Please put the kettle on ;-)
ReplyDeleteWe are enjoying the most beautiful spell of weather at the moment, Connie, so it is a good place to be. The apple crop is ready and friends keep popping in for a bag of apples so the kettle is pretty constantly on the hob!
DeleteHi there
ReplyDeleteYou caught the light in your garden in a lovely way. The warm Septembre light is such a joy. For no money in this world I would ever climb into a wicker basket :o). I prefer to keep my feet on save ground :o)
Have a great day
Alex
Early morning on a still, dry day is a special time. Our nights are cold and the dew heavy on the ground but it's lovely to be out in the long shadows with the promise of a good day ahead.
DeleteThe Heron has to be my favourite bird, we have a few around us. Quite cool here this morning (9 C-ish) with the same long shadows and windfall strewn lawn. Lovely time of year, although I'm not looking forward to Winter.
ReplyDeleteThe fishermen at the lake across from our house don't share your opinion of the heron! Our nights are now cold, putting an end to any growth in the veg patch but the days are soft and kind, my favourite sort of autumn. Like you I'm not a winter person, I've a real dislike of cold and low light levels, very depressing.
