Rainbows in the Yorkshire Dales

I was away from home for much of May and experienced fair weather and foul. After heavy downpours great arcs of rainbows appeared in the sky.
Every time I looked, another rainbow!

  1. Awesome captures. I seldom see a rainbow let alone capture it's beauty on camera. Well done!

    1. Rainbows mean that there's a whole lot of rain about. Living in Kenya it's no wonder that you rarely see a rainbow, Joyful!

    1. The first two pictures were taken from the car window as we drove through the Dales and the other two tarn from my kitchen window. I didn't venture outside, it was cold and wet!

    1. Yes, the number of rainbows was unusual. They were complete arcs in strong colours, some of them with a faint after image as you can see on the second photo.

    1. I didn't know that a rainbow was a sign of good luck. They say that if you find the spot where the rainbow ends then you'll find a pot of gold, but I've never gone looking!
