'Flaming' June

It isn't 'flaming' but it is very green and lush. The spuds are up, the peas look promising and the weeds, slugs and snails are having a lovely time!

The herbaceous borders are cram full and we have been trying to straighten the edges of paths to give a bit of contrast to all the rioting growth.
Some of the edges are a bit wobbly!
But at least the lawn has just about survived the moss blitz.

All the old gals are coming into bloom; Constance Spry, Gertrude Jekyll, Honorine de Brabant

and other, nameless, roses, the result of little slips, like this beauty  from Corfu.

You can't keep me out of the garden in the month of June
even when it's raining!

  1. this makes me so happy! I have so much work to do in the yard over the next couple of weeks, but the black flies and mosquitoes have arrived as well! Will just have to damn the torpedoes! Love your garden!

  2. I totally understand. June is the most beautiful month for gardens here. It is before the terrible heat of summer and it rains enough to keep everything looking fresh and new. Then there is always the surprise of something new popping up and wondering if it is a plant or a weed.

    1. "Terrible heat of summer" doesn't get much of a look-in over here. It's something that I have to hop on a plane to find!

    1. It's a promising month, Sigrun, although some disappointments have already arrived. Both pear trees have lost their crop, I'm going to have to lose my organic stance and spray them if I want to eat pears next year.

  4. You say: "...weeds, slugs and snails are having a lovely time!"

And I say, don't I know it! At least I am good for some.

Yesterday we came home after massive weeding elsewhere (trying to be helpful but not enough to make a dent)...Who should welcome us right off the bat but a wee baby bunny making this her enclosed "protected" front space her home. Cute as a button! But hungry so the garden is toast! Or soon will be. But we are happy none-the-less to have the bunny as as our guest & know we must change some growing methods if we hope for any produce!

I hope you don't get tired of hearing it from us many fans of yours in the blogosphere, but your garden is a total delight! It definitely shows your passion & artistic bent. Thanks for sharing.

    Enjoy your days.

    1. Isn't it amazing what one small rabbit can eat!! (We have a rabbit-proof fence, but don't get me started on badgers!)

    1. There's a four letter word for why everything looks so green. R...
Swings and roundabouts in the veg garden, Doc. Still no sign of any carrots and this is after a second sowing of fresh seed. The bed is netted - what's going on? The first sowing of lettuce completely taken by slugs. But just to walk around our own space, not focusing on the negatives, delights me.
