Happy New Year

 12 midnight.
Bringing in the New Year at our neighbours' home.
Once again our hostess cooked up a storm.
Thank you, Elaine!

Chili con carne on the Aga, with lots of other tasty goodies
and puddings to die for!
We had a bit of a bop but by the early hours of the morning we were settled in the kitchen
chatting in that wonderfully comfortable
end of the party way.
On New Year's Day morning the sun shone!
And a new flower bloomed on my orchid.
I added some shop bought roses to the vase containing dried hydrangea heads from the garden
for Jane's flowers in the house at smallbutcharming.
Wishing you all that is good for 2013.

  1. Happy New Year ... and lots of memorable moments, which you are hopefully continuing to share with us!

Sunshine on Jan 1st is one of the best features for that day. Right after the New Year's Concert for breakfast (around 1pm ;-))

    greetings,
    Paula

  3. It looks like a great party. My orchid has put forth a new flower spike so it's just a question of time now.

    1. Mine is a brand new flower spike as well, Hostess, so I'm feeling rather clever!

  4. As impressed as I am by the new bloom on your orchid I'm really impressed by your neighbor's New Years party.

I'm taking my flowers and moving to your hood.

    1. Yes, Elaine is the most fantastic hostess. Every year I ask if I can do something to help and she tells me she is just doing a casual put-together. Then we turn up to a fabulous New Year's Eve feast. (I've put on four pounds this holiday!)
Wishing you good gardening in 2013, and sunshine!
