Were you spooked?

In previous years children in the village have busied themselves making some gloriously messy, slimy substance. They carried it from house to house in a bucket at Halloween and when they knocked on your door if you couldn't provide a 'treat'  then you had to put your hand into their gooey 'trick'. I always made sure that I had some sweets at the ready, but I think that they would actually have been happier if I had not. This year is quite a different matter as children were asked not to do any trick or treating in case they spread disease to different households. The fact is that we are all sufficiently spooked as it is. I lit my little squash. It was a very quiet night.

  1. Halloween is a relatively new concept here. We got sweets bundled up ready to give out and Doug answered the door to 5 or 6 teens at about 5 p.m. and gave them three packets between them as we usually get quite a few but there were no more. I have just tipped the packets out into a bowl for Doug.

  2. We opted out of Halloween as it is also my husband's birthday, and we went off to a b&b in the mountains. Covid has a lot to answer for, not least of which is spoiling fun times for children. Love your little one with the squash!

    1. A b&b in the mountains sounds wonderful, Patricia. Full lockdown heading our way this week in Blighty and I think I've got a touch of cabin fever!

  3. Trick or treating would be rather unusual here at the best of times, and even then, nobody has ever rung my doorbell for it - the entracne to my house is set back from the street, not easily visible.
You are so right - we are all spooked enough as it is!

    1. We seem to have gone down the American route with Halloween,it is now very commercialised. It used to be a very simple affair, just a few games, such as ducking for apples, and scaring each other telling ghost stories.

  5. I really want to thank Dr Emu for saving my marriage. My wife really treated me badly and left home for almost 3 month this got me sick and confused. Then I told my friend about how my wife has changed towards me. Then she told me to contact Dr Emu that he will help me bring back my wife and change her back to a good woman. I never believed in all this but I gave it a try. Dr Emu casted a spell of return of love on her, and my wife came back home for forgiveness and today we are happy again.
