The end of British Summer Time

The clocks went back at 2am on Sunday morning and it was the end of British Summer Time. I stayed in bed for the extra hour and read a book. Aah, the indulgence! But outside the weather looked good and in the afternoon we went for a walk. The rest of our family, dotted in different parts of the country, did the same. Wee One sent photos of her partner and son walking in their nearby woods before the sun went down. I enjoyed our walk, but how much nicer it would have been if all the family could have walked together!

  1. Beautiful photos! Our Daylight Savings Time ends next Sunday here in the U.S. Honestly, I wish they’d end it. I don’t see any purpose to it really. Enjoy every beautiful autumn day!

    1. Thank you for commenting, Kathy. We are making the most of any (not many!) fine spells of weather to be outside before winter is upon us.

    1. I like the last photo the best, Sherlock - it captures all the energy and pleasure in life that a three year old possesses!

  3. Lovely photos. We have just started daylight savings. I would also prefer to keep to the same time all year.

    1. It makes little difference to me as a retired person, but there has long been discontent from farmers in the north of the country about the annual time change.

  4. October sunlight is magic, especially in woodland.
Here, the clocks were also set back on Sunday. Now it is dark by the time I finish work, and I need to shift my after-work walks to earlier in the day, make them lunch break walks.

    1. Yes, the woods are especially beautiful the autumn.
Oh dear, rather hard to be finishing work in the dark!

  5. Those are lovely photos. I love you last sentence as that is how most of us are feeling at this time. I wonder how I am going to bear the holidays ahead.

    1. We are just going to have to put up with it, unless we are foolish and mix unwisely. I'm missing a precious time with our talkative three year old, but I want to still be around to see my grandson grow up!

  6. I really want to thank Dr Emu for saving my marriage. My wife really treated me badly and left home for almost 3 month this got me sick and confused. Then I told my friend about how my wife has changed towards me. Then she told me to contact Dr Emu that he will help me bring back my wife and change her back to a good woman. I never believed in all this but I gave it a try. Dr Emu casted a spell of return of love on her, and my wife came back home for forgiveness and today we are happy again.
