At last!

At last some warmth and sunshine. It's been a long time coming. In the early morning the balloons drift out of the city heading our way. Before you spot them in the sky you can hear them, due to the noise of the gas as they try to maintain height.

This one was threatening not to make it.

But then it caught an updraft of wind
and floated over my head.

  1. Beautiful balloon photos, especially the one where the balloon approached under the arch. I remember the time when our dog Snarf noticed a balloon in the sky. He was running inside, hiding himself under my desk, the coward.

    1. Although my fox terrier, Maisie, was a wimp about many things she never bothered with the balloons passing over our house.

    1. I watched three balloons coming in our direction. Virgin flying high, a blue one that sank ever lower and landed in a nearby field and this one that threatened to land and then made it back up into the air.

    1. They float over on still, tranquil days, usually early morning or evening when conditions are right.
