December Skywatch Friday

Autumn seemed to last no time at all. Now we are waking each morning to a covering of frost. There's ice on the water butts and it's crisp underfoot, the temperature rises little throughout the day. This chilly-looking moon appeared in the sky in the late afternoon.
There looked to be a promising sunset over by the lake but I felt too cold to walk over there to see. I photographed the sky through the trees from the back of the garden and then scurried back indoors into the warmth.
I'm not much of a winter person!
Sharing my winter sky with Skywatch Friday.

  1. The sunsets have been outstanding lately which helps my mood as the cold of winter begins.

    1. I really enjoy taking my camera out each Friday to look at the sky and join in Skywatch Friday. Even on a cold, dull day t's rewarding and it's fascinating then to go over to the host and look at skies from all over the world. (I'm very envious of the warm, sunny locations!)

  2. I like winter with frost and snow but not these chilly wet days. This morning we had our first groundfrost but in the meantime it's raining again. Hate these gloomy days but I love the wonderful skies and sunsets as you photographed. Furhermore, it's best to sit in front of the fire with a book and tea.

    1. I agree with you, Janneke, the cold, damp days with low light levels are the worst - and we get plenty of those in Blighty! We've just had another delivery of wood so we are ready for winter by the fire.
