That was a very friendly swan. We were the only two out at that time of day. I spotted it in the distance ( a tiny white spot to the left of the second photo) and it glided towards me and silently followed me as I walked beside the lake. I regretted not having some crusts of bread in my pocket!
I saw the sunset as I was driving home. By the time I got outside with my camera the colour had gone and until I saw the swan I was rather disappointed. Next time I'll be sure to put some bread in my pocket.
Oh how I love sunsets! We just returned after spending a post Christmas week at the beach. It was wonderful, but it was foggy, cloudy and rainy most days...there were no sunsets. Thanks for sharing your lovely pictures!

DeleteYou live in a most beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteI love the lavendar tint to your photos.
Twilight is my most favorite time of the day.
cheers, parsnip and the hamish
Yes, it is lovely, Parsnip, but it's also cold and VERY damp at this time of year and not at all good for my arthritis!
DeleteBeautiful photos... almost monochrome, with just a tasteful hint of color! Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteYup, that's Blighty for you, monochrome throughout January, February and often also March!
DeleteLovely, swans are so beautiful and elegant. Fits perfect to that gorgeous sunset.

DeleteBeautiful shots. The colorful skies and stately swans are perfection.
ReplyDeleteIt was still and cold out, the swan just gliding along in absolute silence.
Deletethe swan is always elegantly beautiful..nice shots..
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree, they are very elegant creatures.
DeleteBeautiful, especially the swan mirrored in the lake.
ReplyDeleteThe last image is my favourite, it was quite dark by then but my point and shoot camera is quite good at capturing any light.

ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you, Bonnie, I'm glad dull weather didn't spoil your time at the beach. Weather here is awful, I've got the January blues!
ReplyDeleteSo lovely and relaxing even looking at those pictures!
ReplyDeleteHello Urszula, it was the time of day when everything seems to be silent. I was glad to have wrapped up and walked out.
