Friday Christmas Market Skywatch

The lights are on in town and the atmosphere is very festive.
Wooden Christmas stalls have been set out around the Abbey, more appear each year, and they bring  crowds of people to look and to shop.

  1. I can almost feel cold air and fog as I breathe. There is a smell of hot cider and mulled wine. Christmas carols. Laughter. Church bells. I want to be there.

    1. All that you've missed is the odd spot of rain, otherwise you've pretty much nailed it, Susan!

    1. It was just a quick walk through the market on my way home, but I think I'll go back with my camera and take some more shots. (For next year's Christmas cards, perhaps!)

  4. Thank you for sharing this. I found the FB page for this Christmas Market and enjoyed a few videos too! It's been six years since my one and only visit to Bath and that was summertime. It was lovely to "visit" in winter via your blog and the Bath Christmas Market FB page! All the way from Southern California - a wonderful treat for me.

    1. Just lucky timing to be walking through the market at dusk while there was still some colour in the sky.

    1. The Christmas lights in Bath are quite tasteful, not a clash of colours, as elsewhere, and they have also lit some of the buildings to great effect. All I had to do was point and shoot.

  8. Beautiful blue skies which reminds me to a real winter with the smells of mulled wine on the Christmas market.

    1. Welcome, Louisette. A friend has told me that I can climb to the top of the abbey and look down on the Christmas market from the tower. IF it stops raining tomorrow I shall do just that!

    3. Oh, that's okay then. Here in Blighty the light levels are very low, the weather dull and damp and I'm having weekly physio because I can't turn my neck! But the family will all be here next week so I'm feeling cheerful.
