But at ground level there's plenty of colour to be seen.
Branches are sprouting
and the 'St Patrick's Day' daffodils are flowering, albeit rather late for their particular party.
Bulbs are starting to put on a bit of a show although the weather is too cold for any scent to be enjoyed.
A week of extreme wind has given the camellia bushes a hard time, scorching the flowers and leaves.
It's best to bring a few blooms into the house to appreciate their beauty.
I've decorated the house a little for Easter with small eggs that dangle from branches.
In the kitchen there are more dangly eggs in paler colours. They are made of thin plastic and feel just like real, blown eggs. (But of course the best ones are made of chocolate!)
Wishing you a very happy Easter.
We have a lot of grey weather too and it's too cold but spring is going on. Your garden is lovely with the springflowers, it makes me so cheerful despite the lack of sun. And your house looks very cosy with the Easter decorations.
ReplyDeleteWish you a Happy Easter weekend!
We seem to be sharing the same weather pattern, Janneke, too cold still for planting out. I hope that you have enjoyed a lovely Easter.
DeleteI love your spirit, if all you got is grey skies then you go with it. Grey is great for highlighting color as you have shown so well.
ReplyDeleteIt's a case of can't change it, go with it, Yogi!
DeleteYou a grey day shine, have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteThat should read....
DeleteYou make a grey day shine
I like the rather zen quality of your first remark, Doc!
DeleteThanks for your good wishes, our weekend was great as I hope was yours also.
It all looks amazing! It's a full moon eclipse tomorrow apparently! Have a lovely Easter!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Coulda. I missed the eclipse - did it mean an extra dark night?
DeleteWe too have grey drizzly sky, so it was lovely to see the colour in your garden. I have also brought out some little Easter egg decorations I've had for a long time & hung them on some branches of blossom. and added some tiny floral decorations here & there.
ReplyDeleteIt's all promise at this time of year, even with a grey, drizzly sky.
DeleteDon't look at the sky the ground is prettier.
ReplyDeleteMerle............
Very good advice, Merle!
Delete... But of course the best one are made of chocolate.
ReplyDeletehahahahahahahahaha
cheers, parsnip
I'm all chocolated out!
DeleteThe colors on the ground offsets the grey weather. This winter was too long here and plants that bloom in March, still have not been seen. Their greens are popping out of the ground but they are the size we usually see in February. Making us wait so long, though, just might increase our joy when we finally get our blooms.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend and enjoy your blessings of spring.
It's just the same over here in Blighty. There will be lots of catching up once the weather warms.
DeleteVery nice selection of photos ... thanks for sharing and thank you for your kind comment on my blog. Blessed Easter to you.
ReplyDeleteYou have such an interesting blog, John, I'm pleased to have found you.
Deletehello,
ReplyDeleteyou have a wonderful garden!!!
we have a lot of grey days with cold temperatures, but spring is coming!!!
wish you a happy easter monday,
regina
Hello Regina. The garden gives me great pleasure. The lawn is full of moss, the borders strangled by ground elder and the vegetable plots as yet unplanted. Nevertheless I LOVE IT!
