Full leaf.
Our garden and those surrounding it are in full leaf and the large trees throw us into a mixture of deep shade and dappled shadow. At the allotment, once the sun clears the hedge, it is hot!
The palm tree is heavy with seed.
Jabblog had a lovely post about bees and it sent me to take a look at our bee hotel to see if anyone had taken up residence. It had been cleaned up and repositioned in early spring. I've sprayed it with beeswax to encourage occupation. It is placed where there is a better flightpath and some sunshine but no takers yet.
Summer colour is coming now as the spring flowers die. Favourites appearing, roses and alliums catching the light with deep shadows behind them.
It's a lovely time of year.

It certainly is a lovely time of year. Your garden looks as though it promises surprises round every corner - delightful.
ReplyDeleteThe garden gives me enormous pleasure.
DeleteSo beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely time of year and I'm enjoying the warmth.
DeleteMy canopy in the back yard is sparser this year since one of the pecans suffered major limb loss from the hurricane last year.
ReplyDeleteThe shape of your wisteria flowers is quite different than mine.
I've got another wisteria at the back of the house that has fatter, rounder flowers. Both are good doers.
DeleteWhat a lovely variety of flowers, shrubs and trees in your garden.
ReplyDeleteMany of the things in this garden are quite new to me and I'm slowly making changes, clearing here and there to make way for a few old favourites.
DeleteI agree, it truly is a lovely time of year! And you have a veritable jungle there, apart from snakes and huge spiders and other animals I wouldn't want to have close encounters with.
ReplyDeleteWe've had slow worms and grass snakes in our previous sunnier and larger gardens. Innocent creatures but they always gave me a jump when I came upon them unexpectedly. No sign of them here!
DeleteBeautiful and serene.
ReplyDeleteWe are happy in our garden to be tucked away from the rush and push of a very busy town.
DeleteI enjoyed this post, and your garden, so much. Truly a delight for the eyes.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Granny Sue, I am so glad that you enjoyed it.
