In the kitchen today.

Nothing is cooking in the kitchen but there is a whole lot of action! The Aga is being taken to bits and the gas elements removed prior to conversion to electric. There are a lot of solid parts to an Aga and at the moment they are strewn all over the kitchen!
We have been through this procedure before in our previous house and were thrilled with the result, so much more versatile than the other options of oil or solid fuel, both of which I have cooked on for many years of Aga usage.
Looking forward to the end result!

    1. All done in a day and, yes, I'm thrilled with the result, although you will see in my next post that I've got a lot to learn about the oven temperatures!

  2. Hope all goes well and you're happy with the result. Guess you will be since you've done it before. I'm sure electric is easier. How about costs?

  3. I bet there are a lot if people who would love to get that Aga! I am sure the electric suits your lifestyle better now, but those old stoves are so cool.

    1. I still have the Aga, just changed to electricity for greater flexibility. I've been cooking on them for years so am delighted to have this one in action.

  4. A big job, but I am sure it'll be worth it! Getting away from fossil fuels is certainly commendable.

  5. I didn't know that an Aga could be converted to electric. They are not very common here in Canada, but my niece just had one installed. I'm not certain what kind of fuel it uses.

    1. Our previous Aga started out as solid fuel, was converted to oil and finally to electricity. The last choice was the best!
