Skywatch

The weeks are flying by, it's time for another Skywatch Friday. We woke to a still, cold morning here in the south-west of England. I popped outside the kitchen door to photograph the sky. How intrusive all the aerial power lines are! The sun was up. already melting the frost in the orchard.
We had Christmas shopping to do and I took a couple of photos from the car as we drove into town.
The sun was setting by the time we were ready to return home
but we stopped by the lake just before the sun went down.

By this time I felt as cold as the birds!
Another good day is forecast for tomorrow.

    1. We just happened to be at the right place at the right time. Had I not been thinking of an image for Skywatch Friday I dare say that we would have driven straight past the lake and not stopped.

    1. It was a lovely spot to be just before sunset - but I did get my feet wet walking through the grass to get the compositions that I was after!

    1. We have so many dull, low-light days that the combination of some sunshine together with autumn colour is a treat.

    1. Yes, it's a good time of year for clouds - when it's not raining, that is!

  7. What would a sky be without trees that build a frame.

    1. Paula, you are back to blogging with a vengeance, great! I am smelling the coffee with you and looking round the exhibitions (I love Klimt but a great deal of modern art leaves me cold.)

    1. We are hanging on to autumn - just. It is cold. Tomorrow I'm going out with my camera while there are still a few leaves on the trees. Then I shall be like you and tuck up inside and concentrate on winter occupations. It's quite nice to close the curtains and have long evenings in which to do something (or nothing!)
