The contents of the sitting room have been camping out in the dining room while we have waited for the chimney to be fixed. It's chaos in a small house when work needs doing. We've been in this state for weeks now.
By late afternoon we had our sitting room back,
with pictures hung and every little knick-knack washed and replaced.
Then it was time to drive to the station to wait for the London train, and to take a photo for Friday's Skywatch.
Wishing you all a very happy Bank Holiday.
Just love that sky! Enjoy your company!
ReplyDeleteI did - it was lovely to have family home - and home back to being home!
DeleteIt is not fun to live in a home where construction is going on. We just went through three weeks of it and the dust and noise was awful. I understand your pain. Your house, though, cleaned up nicely.
ReplyDeleteOh, Maybe, I'm sorry you've been going through the same sort of disruption. Hope you are back in order now.
DeleteWork finished and your home is nice and tidy again, I think you are very glad. The evening sky looks great!
ReplyDeleteThe scaffolding is still up and blocking various windows but at least the house is our own once more. What a relief!
DeleteA wonderful sky! You have a nice home!
ReplyDeleteSometimes it is a dull and windy wait at the railway station but Friday night was kind - and the train was on time!
Deleteoh looks lovely! hope the bank holiday weekend has been a good one!
ReplyDeleteA lovely weekend, Wendy, with plenty of talking, eating, a bit of girly shopping, lunch out, a walk and yet more talking. Lovely. Bank Holiday Monday, this is Blighty. What does it do? It tips down with rain!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely room. I hope you had a wonderful weekend?
ReplyDeleteTake care!
Charlie
xx
Thank you, Charlie, we had a lovely weekend.
DeleteThe mess was worth the trouble. Your room is so nice. Have fun with your company. (Thank goodness the work got done just in time for company; so rare!)
ReplyDeleteI'll confess, Christa, that I had a bit of a strop with the firm fitting the chimney lining. The work was finished just in time, although it was a close run thing! It's great to have the house back to ourselves. However, over one month later the scaffolding is still in position! They've promised me it will be taken away tomorrow. (But I'm not holding my breath!)
