We've been in Cornwall for a couple of nights visiting a friend who has been in hospital for cancer treatment. We stayed in Carbis Bay, just up the coast from St Ives.
Our hotel was above the beach and had uninterrupted views out to sea,
tempting us out to walk along the shoreline before breakfast.
This morning it was warm enough to eat breakfast on the terrace!
Carbis Bay at sunset for Friday Skywatch.
That does look like a lovely spot.
ReplyDeleteMerle...........
Oh, it is, Merle, and we were especially lucky to have fabulous weather for our stay - the first touch of summer! This time last year when we visited St Ives it was all jumpers, coat, scarves and hats!
DeleteBeautiful location... love that last photo!
ReplyDeleteFriday Skywatch keeps me on the look-out for a nice patch of sky!
DeleteSo very lovely. I can almost smell the salt air with the clarity of your photos! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGlad that you enjoyed sharing our stroll along the beach. The water was tempting but too cold for me to swim.
DeleteI just have to give a big sigh...I'm longing for holidays and your photos just made this longing a bit stronger :o). Cornwall is a lovely place to be.
ReplyDeleteHope your friend is getting better.
Have a lovely weekend
Alex
It was just a short trip but I remain as enthusiastic about being at the seaside as I was as a child.
DeleteThe cancer treatment is now a permanent feature for our friend but we were pleased to find him on good form, with a lively mind and positive spirit. It is always a pleasure to meet up.
Beautiful pictures. We have had many happy holidays in Cornwall. I hope your friend's treatment goes well.
ReplyDeleteCornwall was looking it's best in the glorious weather.
DeleteSimply gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI posted some images of St Ives when we visited last April. It's a lovely place.
DeleteThat looks like a lovely seashore resort, Rosemary.
ReplyDeleteIt is a lovely area - standing room only in the summer holiday period, because everyone feels the same!
DeleteI once spent a weekend on Cornwall and had my very first cup of chamomile tea. Still as pretty now as it was then.
ReplyDeleteThe choice of tea is amazing these days, green tea has swept the country in recent years, I don't know if it's the same with you.
DeleteOh, I have always wanted to visit Cornwall. How lovely. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWe were SO lucky with the weather - today it's tipping down!
DeleteI love the sea. The one thing we miss here is water; a stream, a river, or the sea. But when we're at our Brighton home (very rarely) we miss the peace of the open countryside. Never satisfied!
ReplyDeleteCRO MAGNON, water? You have a POOL! Just the thought of it makes me green with envy.
DeleteI was in England for the first time last summer and really want to go back. Cornwall looks so beautiful. :o) I grew up in California and love waking up next to the sea.
ReplyDeleteCalifornia, beach and sunshine - now you're talking!
DeleteI have just returned from a hfholiday week in St. Ives. We walked from Carbis Bay to St. Ives and did several walking days on the South Coastal Trail. It is spectacular.
ReplyDeleteHello Madame La-bas, I've been looking at your blog and wondering, perhaps we passed each other in St Ives or Bath. You had quite a trip!
ReplyDeleteLovely! But you missed a wonderful Chelsea Show!
