The regular houseplants are also performing well.
This orchid has been flowering for years. I ignore it for weeks and then soak it in tepid rain water, drain off and leave it dry for another long while.
I'm giving it's tiny companion the same rough treatment and it seems to be responding well. This is its second spray of flowers.
The white roses are STILL flowering, the free pot of daffodils coming into bloom and, oh, just smell the hyacinth!
Hearts in various forms are creeping into the house, Valentine's Day coming soon!
For Jane's flowers in the house.
I love this time of year when the blooms start peeking out. Your house must smell like a garden!
ReplyDeleteI've got three pots of hyacinths in different rooms and you are right, Connie, they are perfuming the house wonderfully.
DeleteSo nice to have those blooms inside the house during the winter. My orchid is about to rebloom!!
ReplyDeleteOrchids used to be very expensive and seem so very exotic but now they are available at all the supermarkets for just a few pounds. They are so tempting. I can hear them calling, "buy me!" whenever I walk by!
DeleteMakes us feel so green-fingered when they re-bloom!
Love the snowdrops, mine are in suspended animation outside in the cooooold. Too short to pick.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm always jealous of anyone who can an orchid to rebloom. I need different light, of a greenhouse would be nice:-)
Thanks for sharing your garden and flowers.

Dear Jane, can you do the linky thing where all the images we send in to you are displayed together on your blog in little snapshots? I haven't the foggiest idea how it's done, but it would be nice to see the mass of flowers and how we were's all together!
DeleteAfter killing so many plants, it would seem that an orchid might survive here.
ReplyDeleteGo for it, Susan!
DeleteYou are inspiring me this morning! I need to get out a few valentine goodies!!! Love the flowers! My Christmas cactus is starting to bloom for the first time in years - have no idea why!
ReplyDeleteWe've been to the shops today and are ready for tomorrow. Oh, the romance!
DeleteAll so pretty! I must plant snowdrops...I love seeing these. I have been tempted by the orchids ... I may have to give this a try. Smiles...Susan
ReplyDeleteI used to think that orchids were very tricky, and perhaps some varieties are, but the few that I have seem to be as tough as old boots.
DeleteA beautiful collection.
ReplyDeleteFlowers in the house, whatever they are, really lift the spirits. I love looking at Jane's blog to see what's flowering in other parts of the world.
DeleteThe blooms are lovely. My flowers all come from my favorite shop as it is far too cold for anything to successfully bloom. My lilac and quince has buds, but the last bout of ice and snow covered them. I have been thinking of you. Are you in the areas receiving torrential rains and high winds. Be safe. Bonnie
ReplyDeleteThank you for your thoughts, Bonnie. We live on a hill and are keeping warm and dry, unlike the poor souls on the nearby Somerset levels. Today the road in our village was blocked by fallen trees for several hours but no damage done.
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers and a lovely garden. I pray for you in Uk, may your ordeals soon be over!
ReplyDeleteGods peace
