If you like fish then you will be happy eating out in Venice.
Mm, where to start!
With fish, of course, and a lime dressing.
Followed by lots more things from the sea!
And still some space left for pudding.
I chose the zabaione
but we all put a spoon into each others puds.
Does your family do that?
And to finish, a good selection of regional cheeses.
Another day, another menu, and more delicious things from the sea.
Lagoon cuttlefish in black ink sauce
and carpet shell clams.
By the end of the holiday our family must have seriously diminished the regions supply of clams! Never mind, there are plenty of vegetables to buy in the market, where bunches of chillies looked every bit as attractive as a bouquet of flowers.
Oh - paradise on a plate (except for the squid ink - yuk)
ReplyDeleteThe first three plates were mine - I passed on the cuttlefish in squid ink. It came with polenta, which is another thing that I can't get excited about. But doesn't the fresh fish stall look a treat, I thought the small shrimpy things might burst into song!
DeleteA feast for the eyes....making me hungry!
ReplyDeleteWe did have to fight our way past plenty of pizza places to find these restaurants. But it was worth it!
DeleteMmmm I could survive quite well on seafood
ReplyDeletewith a few puddings to follow, Doc?
DeleteOh yes. Spoons and forks flying around our table. Everyone orders something different so we can taste. Love that first photo. Eek!
ReplyDeleteFish with attitudes! Don't ask me what half of them were.
DeleteAll beautiful. Anyone who put a spoon in my puds would get a fork in the hand.
ReplyDeleteOuch...I'll remember that!
DeleteWhat beautiful food. We are big fish eaters here, and don't recognise most that is there on your plate, except the cuttlefish of course.....yum! It's making my morning marmalade on toast seem a little meagre now Rosemary.
ReplyDeleteThe nice thing about blogging is that it holds your memories, I can just look at the photos and think, oh, those tasty little clams!
