and detailed instructions for their care. After a few days I was to dismantle the whole caboodle, cut the stems, change the water and so forth.
I waited for six days before doing as I was told. And now I've got two vases of flowers, a winter arrangement in the dining room
which looks quite different under artificial light.
And in the sitting room, with the addition of a few straggly specimens from the garden, a much quieter display.(But, oh, isn't lily pollen pesky!)
For Jane's flowers in the house at small but charming.
Very nice of the Young and Fit. My hydrangeas and lily's are long gone by this time of year.
ReplyDeleteThe Young and Fit are just wonderful, Doc. All these flowers are from the florist, my hydrangeas and lilies are long gone also.
DeleteBeautiful, as is your house.
ReplyDeletethat first shot is breathtaking.
Thanks for coming to the partee!!

i always enjoy your parties, Jane.
DeleteMy house is a tip at the moment with nothing being done except wading through reams of accident claim forms - an absolute nightmare. But flowers are very uplifting!
Beautiful ones!!!
ReplyDeleteCertainly a colour combination to make you smile!
DeleteI would agree with the hostess, the flowers against that wall are just breathtaking.
ReplyDeleteThe dining room is small and dark. I'd looked for a Victorian green wallpaper for it but they were all too muted (since they've stopped producing them with arsenic!) The strongly painted walls are a good backdrop to other colours. I'm not a white wall person!
DeleteSuch a nice gift. Yeah...that lily pollen...
ReplyDeleteI've been busy with the scissors and a little pot to catch the pollen in. But, oh so tricky. I do love lily flowers, however. (And every summer in the garden it's me versus the lily beetles.)
DeleteWhat beautiful flower combinations. The lighting and background makes magnificent pictures.
ReplyDeleteStunning colors ... lovely flowers...beautiful photos. Such a thoughtful gift!
