Autumn

Woke to a very promising sky this morning, a change from the recent battering wind and rain. The garden is now looking rather weary.
All the water butts are full to overflowing.

This year's crop of figs have now been eaten, but, hurrah, a new crop has set. (Gardeners are always looking forward!)
The greenhouse is crammed with plants to overwinter.
There's no room left to sit down.
Flowers from the garden are very bedraggled.
As am I!

    1. You're right, Jenn. The garden as a whole looks very messy now and lots of stuff needs to be cut back and cleared away, but when I bring a few flowers into the house they give pleasure.

  2. Days of rain can beat down the garden but a few days of sun can bring it back. However, now with autumn finally making an appearance, it is time to put things away. I would love to have a greenhouse like your lovely one, but alas, many of my plants winter in my basement clinging to the little light from a few windows. The strong will survive.

    1. Do treat yourself to a greenhouse, Maybe, they are such a useful space and a great place to potter about in spring and autumn.

  3. The flowers are very pretty! We've had rain for the last little while and some sun is in the sky today. I have to get out there and do some pre-winter cleanup!

    1. Dear Janice, thank you for your good wishes. I once had a spring holiday in Madeira and was astonished by all the beauty and variety of flowers on display in Funchal market - absolutely wonderful.
