Skywatch New Year

We walked home from the New Year party under a crisp moon and a cold, clear sky, surely a great start to 2016. No street lights in our village and apart from the group of neighbours with whom we had been celebrating most people seemed to be in bed.
Here's the first moon of 2016 for Skywatch Friday
The party was noisy - and fun!

The piper came at midnight.

Wishing you a happy and healthy New Year..

(For the fashionista's amongst you I wore black velvet pants with black suede high heels, a pink silk blouse and a chunky rose quartz necklace.)

  1. Just caught up with your posts. Your home looks lovely. I decorate my tree right away. There is something about enjoying the lights leading up to Christmas Day.
Your New Year party photos look very fun. The walk home must have been amazing.

    1. The walk home was short but it felt like the perfect start to a new year, a clear, still, dry night - something of a rarity at the moment!

    1. A noisy, friendly evening with neighbours and a bit of dancing - just what I love, Doc! I'm adding a few more photos that my neighbour took.

    1. Rather fuzzy photos, Lady Fi, but I don't like to use the flash as it always seems to flatten things out.

  5. Ohhhh, how lovely! You had a piper on your party. I love this music. We had very loud fireworks... poor pets and wildlife. Have a Happy New Year!

    1. Happy New Year, Alex. We kept our fireworks from Bonfire Night because it was such a wet night that we chose to stay inside! We thought that we would light them at New Year after the dancing but as we walked home everything was so peaceful that we kept the box unopened. (There is nothing too noisy in our box, just the woosh of a few Roman candles.) Our lovely next-door neighbours are moving away this month so we shall light the fireworks at our farewell supper. I'm going to be lonely; no more chatting over the hedge, no more plant swaps,no more wonderful white kittens coming over the wall to play and eat a handful of Dreamies!
