Another Friday

Another promising Friday skywatch! Loaded the washing machine, ate breakfast, pegged out the washing to blow on the line then put on my wellingtons and walked to the pond to look at the water level.
We've had endless days of rain and the water bailiff advised me to take care near the banking as there had been some slippage.
It was good to be out in the sunshine.

Several of the fishing stands were close to being submerged.
It was sloppy underfoot and by the time I got home it had started to rain - my poor washing!

  1. All beautiful pictures, Rosemary. With some imagination and seeing the sun shinning, I can almost see a hint of spring.

    1. Yes, you are right, for all the wet it is relatively mild and there are, indeed, hints of early spring. Green shoots are appearing. Not too wise as a spell of cold weather will knock it all back!

    1. We are lucky to live so close to the pond, it makes a nice daily walk.

  3. Lovely scenic shots. The sky is well captured in it's very dramatic state. Happy SWF!

  4. Beautiful photos. With the abundance of rain you should have a fabulous spring. At least, when we have day upon day of wet that is what I tell myself. Have a wonderful weekend. Bonnie

    1. But what would you be telling yourself, Bonnie, after weeks of ENDLESS rain?!!

  5. It seems neverending doesn't it - but there have been some sunny mornings which have kind of made up for it. Luckily our garden soil is very free-draining so it hasn't presented too much of a problem.

    1. My soil is sandy but it hasn't stopped it from becoming a bit of a slithering mess. At least we are not under water like some poor souls.

  6. What a beautiful setting! We've had a wet winter, too. It's finally dried up a bit here and I was able to start on a winter garden project. I am determined to bunny-proof my garden. Won't they be surprised come spring!

    1. We've got a rabbit-proof fence but have in the past had great trouble with badgers. They can really make a mess!

  8. Hello Prasad, Yes, for many years we worked in big cities and now feel very fortunate to be able to live in quiet countryside.
