5am.

I'm getting up in the early mornings so that I can water the garden before the heat of the day.
The vegetable plot is loving all this warmth - as am I!
The courgettes are on stream
but the lawn is struggling.
As well as watering I'm busy dead-heading and cutting back.

It's wonderful to be living out of doors!

  1. oh your garden is so lovely and orderly. Mine is such a mess and I have so busy this week thus far that I have not being doing right by it! Today it is raining, so will be wilder still! just lovely!

    1. It's selective camera work, I assure you - and my house is a tip!

  2. We have been watering early mornings and late evening. Our back lawn is dry in patches too but the heat is a favourite of the roses!
    Your garden looks happy

    1. We, and our roses, are obviously enjoying the same conditions, Hostess. I hope retirement is feeling good!

  3. I thought you were going to write something about someone called 'Sam'. I've been reading too many personalised number-plates.

  4. I've decided it chic to have a brown lawn. Water can be used for so many other better things. Your garden however, madam, is lovely and well worth the water.

    1. If it's chic to have a brown lawn then I am very chic! I don't waste water on grass but the veg are getting a lot of attention.

  5. Your garden looks beautiful, and I love the stone of the house. Our lawn is brown as yours, we have a bad wind and when I water some plants, the wind blow the water away. I hope for some rain today.

    1. I hope that the rain came for you, Sigrun. We had a little during the night but not enough to be of much use, only to take some dust off the leaves.
