Busy, busy.

The Bournemouth Brigade came at the weekend and we had plenty to do. After Christmas Wee One is to be playing the cello at a wedding so she brought her chosen music home for us to listen to.
Then we had to consider the wedding outfit - a new dress needed! We downed tools and went shopping with specific requirements; a full skirt and ease of movement across the shoulders and in the sleeves. Wee One wasn't hopeful but her intrepid mother was sure that we would find something lovely. The males in our party were very well behaved (the coffee and cake shop helped).
We found the PERFECT dress at 'Deadly is the Female'. Can't show you because it is wrapped up for Christmas. That's another person ticked on my list.
Wee One bought a fabulous red net petticoat to go underneath. Bring back the fifties!
She's been busy with my old beads and buttons

making an advent calendar, hopefully for this year!
On Sunday the sun shone and we pulled on our wellies and crossed the muddy fields
and into the woods to enjoy the remaining autumn colour.

We spotted these large mistletoe balls high up in the trees. far too high to be raided for next month's decorations.
It was perfect weekend.

    1. I've been wanting to photograph the trees for several weeks, Hostess, but they have been shrouded in damp mist. It was perfect timing for the sun to shine on Sunday when Wee One and Roman were home. Today, once again, the weather is miserable!

  2. Rosemary, It sounds like the perfect weekend with your family. The dress sounds lovely, and Oh, I especially love the red petticoat. The photographs are beautiful. I love the colors. Bonnie

    1. We had a lovely time, Bonnie. I'll photograph the dress at Christmas when the girls are home and it gets unwrapped. The red petticoat will be great for the evening dance once the cello playing responsibilities are over.
(Wee One tried on some Vivienne Westwood shoes with the dress and they looked good, but walking in them was not possible!)

  4. Hello Rosemary,
I do so like these autumn walks in the wood. I do so admire the 'wee one' for taking up the cello. Such a beautiful instrument to both look at and list to. One of my favourites are the Bach Cello Suites. Himself is looking very reflective and thoughtful on the bridge! Enjoy your week.

  5. It was a delight to be walking in the woods on such a lovely day, although still treacherously muddy in parts.
Wee One has been playing the cello since she was eight years old and I think that it is my favourite instrument - love the minor keys! Big sister plays the oboe and those rehearsal times were a bit harder to take!
Himself was probably wondering what was for lunch.
Tipping it down today, but do we care? Tomorrow we set off for Havana. I'm packing my dancing shoes!

  6. Havana?.....WOW!!! Somewhere I dream of going one day. Bring back a picture of a Chevy convertible with you two in it.....drinking Daiquiris and smoking a big fat cigar. Dash it, that's my dream. Have a great time! (send us a postcard?)

    1. Dear Gary, I shall try to fulfill your brief! Oh, I think I'm going to give you serious car envy. Hoping to take lots of photos of beautiful old buildings and cars and enjoying a good amount of music and salsa dancing. Shall blog it all!
