Minus 6

Looked out of the window this morning. Not much snow, but by golly, it's nippy. The thermometer says minus 6 but that doesn't factor in the wind chill. The snow is very fine, it has blown through the thinnest gaps in the greenhouse and powdered some of the plants.

Time to put on my boots and take a look round the garden.

Nice little drifts.

The new front door is working well. No draughts, no jamming, no drifts in the hall!
I love the way the garden structures look against the blank canvas of snow.

Here's my grey sky for Friday skywatch
We've had a further downfall of snow since I took these photos.

Keep warm, folks.
(Or if you're very hot, keep cool!)

    1. Yes, I'm heartily sick of winter as well. But don't rush through spring, Doc, I've got all my planting to do!

  3. What gorgeous snow photos. I think everything looks pretty with a dusting of fresh white snow, and the garden looks just lovely.

    1. After a long winter I'm itching to be doing things in the garden but it will all have to wait.

  4. Beautiful for Christmas, but I'm waiting for spring. Planted onions and need to start seeds. Maybe today.

    1. But oh, so grey, Donna. I can't even think about planting for a while yet. (Although it's the annual seed swap this coming Saturday!)

  5. Thank you for taking us on your photo tour around the house. The stone walls and facades look good. But wait, no gloves?!

Your mood sounds way more inspired and activated compared to our current mood. This winter makes us feel sooo sleepy. Maybe an hour in the hot tub will wake me up? :-)

"Here's my grey ..." Oh yes.

    Sending warm greetings from Vienna,
    Paula

    1. The woolly gloves went on as soon as I'd taken the photos.
February is always my worst month of the year. Once that is behind me, even if the weather is disgusting, I start to feel optimistic. (And the last photo shows our secret weapon against cold and miserable weather!)

  6. Snow transforms the landscape into beautiful mystery, although March is a little late for it. Hopefully, it won't last long.

    1. Yes, I retain a childish delight in snowfall. I love the way it transforms the familiar. Although I now live in the south west of England I grew up in the north where it is not at all unusual to have snow in March.
