While I was sleeping

While I was sleeping
a spider has spun
and the morning sun
lights delicate threads
from a picture on the wall
to the fruit bowl
and across a chasm,
gravity defying line,
to the back of a kitchen chair.
I stare in disbelief.
All this
while I was sleeping!

  1. Rosemary, I love to find spider webs. Such beautiful creations.

Thank you for checking up on me. I have had a few family situations to deal with. I wish I could write my way through them but words always seem to fall just beyond my reach. I am hoping things are settling down or at least I am finding some light. Always enjoy hearing from you.

    1. I'm hearing English understatement here, Bonnie, 'a few family situations to deal with.'! I wish you well, dear blog friend.

    1. It has been so very windy that I've not spotted any large, elaborate webs in the garden lately. The web line that greeted me in the kitchen that morning was immensely long and it was mind-boggling to think of how it was created.

  5. A lovely poem... but I have to confess, that I'm absolutely afraid of spiders. They make me scream like a little girl and run at leat one room further on :o).
    Have a lovely Sunday

    1. I am a wimp about moths. If one comes into the bedroom I hide under the bedding until Himself has put it out of the window. I have the improbable belief that it will f;y into my face and hair.
